Healthy Investment is the trading name of The Rechabite Friendly Society Limited.

Formed in 1835 the Society is an incorporated friendly society under the Friendly Society Act (1992). Our Friendly Society Register number is 218f.

We are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.  Our Financial Services Register number is 109994.  You can confirm this on the FSR's website or by telephoning the Financial Conduct Authority on 0800 111 6768. 

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Healthy Investment is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

In the unlikely event that Healthy Investment is not able to meet its liabilities and pay out claims then members may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS.  At present the compensation limit set by the FSCS is 100% of your investment with no upper limit. This compares to banks and building society deposits where the current limit of protection is £85,000.

The Rechabite Financial Services

The Rechabite Financial Services Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Rechabite Friendly Society Limited.

Its purpose is to provide non-financial services products and services to members and to introduce products provided by other companies to members.

The Rechabite Friendly Services is not authorised or regulated by the PRA and FCA. Any product or service provided would not subject to their regulations and is unlikely to be covered by the FSCS.

Shareholder Rights Directive

Healthy Investment is in the process of discussing with its investment and asset managers and its other professional advisers whether and how we develop an engagement strategy under the requirements of the Shareholder Rights Directive (2).

The purpose of an Engagement Policy is to set out how a life insurance company monitors the strategy and performance, as well as the environment and social impact of the companies it holds shares in – either directly or through an investment or asset manager.

As a mutual friendly society we are in the process of assessing the degree to which the directive applies to our business, and will update this section of our website in due course.
